WSOP 2008 Final Table Delay
Even after reading all of the "this is really cool for poker" posts out there am I the only one that still thinks THIS is stupid?
I mean really... until November??
Why not show the preliminary events AFTER the Main Event Final Table live "performance"?
Please someone try to convince me this is a good idea?
Anyways... It looks like the final tally for entries this year is actually up since last year which I thought wouldn't happen. 6,844 entries. I still wish I was there.

Superbusy Days and Tired Nights...
Tis been a while since anything of note that has happened on this here blog... but when you have a family of 4 soon to be a full basketball team that happens.
Our poker league is in the middle of a hiatus from our TOC but we start playing again next week which will help.
The WSOP is in full swing and hopefully you all are paying attention. Pretty exciting. I sure do wish I was there. Maybe next year when things are a bit calmer around here.
In between trying to sell a house, buy a house, take care of a five and four year old, and trying to coddle my pregnant wife in the middle of all that, poker has taken a bit of a back seat.
Never fear... Things will pick up...
Congrats to Daniel Negreanu who just picked up his fourth bracelet after a bit of a dry spell.

Are You Kidding Me???
Does anyone else think this is crap? Seriously... 4 months later?
I could understand a few days or a week to setup a national type live broadcast but 4 months???
Does anyone else think this is stupid or am I not seeing the forest for the trees?
I think it's ridiculous.

Texas Hold'em Tips From BetUS.com

If you are a poker player who has played lots of Texas Hold’em in the past, then you’ve probably got a good understanding of how the game is played. And this is great as having plenty of poker experience will always help you consistently beat players who have little, if any. However, just having experience isn’t everything and if one truly wants to become a great player, they are going to have to study Texas Hold’em tips.
Any player, whether professional or amateur, can definitely benefit from knowing a few extra Texas Hold’em tips. After all, the game isn’t built entirely upon luck and odds like many forms of gambling. It is instead a game of strategy and probability where, if one really knows their tips, a person can consistently come out with a positive bankroll.
The thing is though you will have to actively seek out these tips in order to study them. And one of the best resources for finding online poker rooms and texas holdem tips in the world is the Internet.
All one has to do to find tons of great advice is simply do a search on one of the major search engines and you’ll be whisked away to some great information.
But if you don’t have Internet access, you can always go to a local card room and ask good players there for tips. This might be a bit embarrassing at first as they will know you are a new player then. But as you become friendlier with the players, it will be easier and easier to talk to them.
The bottom line is to just get out there and study as much as you can because, as you’ll find, the more tips that you know the better player you’ll become in the long run.
